Biography
A cardiologist since 2003, specialised in clinical arrhythmology and invasive electrophysiology. At the Centro Cardiologico Ticino, since January 2024 he has been responsible for the diagnostics and clinical management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias and implantable cardiac devices (pacemakers and defibrillators). He also works as attending physician at the cardiology outpatient clinic of the Private Medical Center in Locarno, at the Moncucco Clinic for pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and at the Herzzentrum, Hirslanden Clinic in Zurich, as an invasive electrophysiologist.
Since 2020 he has been a lecturer (Privatdozent) at the University of Zurich and at the Università della Svizzera Italiana, where he has played an active role within the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences. The author of more than 100 scientific papers, his interests include the clinical use of cardiac pacing in the treatment of heart failure and the use of advanced cardiac imaging techniques to guide electrophysiology procedures.
He is currently studying the diagnostic accuracy of certain wearable devices for the detection of cardiac arrhythmias. He is a member of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), of the Swiss working group on Electrophysiology and Cardiac Pacing (Swiss Society of Cardiology) and of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).
